Shave and a haircut
(but a tad more than two bits)
Now you can get a haircut in Denver — old school.I saw workmen installing a barber pole outside Cigars on Sixth the other day. Proprietor Dan Dunne explains that he's installed a barber chair in the back of the cozy cigar shop.
"I'm trying to clean up the community a little bit," Dunne says.
It's dubbed Clips on Sixth, and Tony Lacona (The Demon Barber of Sixth Street) cuts hair and straight shaves clients Wednesday-Monday. Hot lather, hot towels, a 30-minute process. And you can get the full treatment for $25 — while you smoke a cigar and watch basketball on a giant flat screen TV. If you were sitting by a window, you might think it was a set-up for a mob hit. But this is all good.
